Citizen competencies are the group of knowledge and skills oriented to cognitive, communicative and emotional development and focused on constructive improvement, whose objective is to achieve an adequate behavior of a citizen within society in the educational field.
The most important challenge is to create and train respectful citizens to be able to live in peace promoting human rights and fulfilling their social duties through an education committed to collective participation within different contexts in order to contribute to the individual improvement of skills, potential abilities and knowledge, a challenge that involves learning from certain private initiatives with three essential components, the first is social mobilization, which is responsible for recognizing and merging the many initiatives that have been working in the country and to strengthen public and private education institutions;
the second is the accompaniment to educational practices whose objective is the development of pedagogical practices with a democratic and collective approach that contributes to the flowering of citizen competencies in institutions; and finally, knowledge management which is based on the design and implementation of physical tools and virtual strategies. Those tools it’s been created with the purpose to contribute to the collective updating of knowledge through the generation of work processes, the consolidation of educational materials for both teachers and students and the creation of virtual and face-to-face spaces.
The main purpose is to highlight the importance of what has been left behind or perhaps not known and to spread its implementation, from my point of view, these programs in support of citizen skills are a fundamental tool to contribute to a better quality of life in the social, communicative, cultural and emotional field, among the others. Normally as citizens do not recognize our commitments and essential values within the group that we belong, we are accomplices of the defects and shortcomings of our environment, we are good at judging and identifying problems but we are not good at giving solutions or contributing to them, that is why citizen competencies should be promoted and inculcated from all possible educational environments through its institutionalization and behavioral assessment of educational establishments , without standardizing and establishing what needs to be known and what needs to be done to promote the potential development of each individual, in this way learn to bring a positive and significant change. As a citizen we are the main characters to make the real difference and bring a positive transformation in others.
